Icon of the Mother of God of Kazan
A noble interpretation of one of the most cherished icons of the Orthodox world: the Mother of God of Kazan, a symbol of divine protection and sacred royalty. The work proposed here represents a synthesis between traditional Russian devotion and high-class artistic craftsmanship — a piece worthy of a ceremonial interior or a private collection with museum requirements.
The Virgin is represented frontally, with a serious and protective gaze, in a silent intermediary posture between heaven and the world. The Infant Jesus, next to her, holds his hand raised in a gesture of blessing, looking directly at us — a detail of particular theological force, which seems to transcend the surface of the icon.
The background is made of silver-plated copper, richly engraved with symmetrical plant motifs, and the halos are ennobled with gold leaf and mountings of Bohemia crystals — red, blue and turquoise — which add a subtle but sumptuous chromatic vibration. The faces are painted in oil, with a meticulousness that respects the iconographic canon, but leaves room for the artist's sensitivity.
The frame is made of solid toned oak wood, with metal inserts at the corners, amplifying the visual presence of the ensemble. The work is protected under glass, giving it durability and a discreet monumental presence.
An ideal piece of authorship for liturgical spaces, sacred art collections, or interiors with an aristocratic memory. Its presence is not just aesthetic—it is spiritual.
